Sts Michael and Gabriel Antiochian Orthodox Church, West Ryde, would like to welcome you to the SMG Playgroup. Our mission is to provide a place where parents and children can come together for fellowship, fun play, spiritual activities and support.
Located in new facilities at the Shepherd’s Bay Community Centre, the playgroup meets every Thursday morning from 10am to 12 midday, during school terms, with a break during school holidays.
Sts Michael and Gabriel Playgroup is an informal gathering for parents and caregivers with children under school age. The Playgroup provides the opportunity for children to develop their social, emoltioanl, physical and intellectual abilities. It also provides an opprotunity for parents and caregivers to develop social and support networks.
We offer:
- Supervised play and craft activities
Many educational toys are provided for use by the children. Craft, games, stories and music time are regular activities at playgroup. - Healthy morning tea/refreashments for parents and children
A healthy morning tea and refreshments are provided (no nut products may be consumed at the palygroup). Many parents choose to celebrate their childrens birthday by brining a cake. - Peer support and spiritual activities for parents and children
The children pray a short prayer before eating morning tea and a short Bible study and prayers are optional for mothers who wish to do so. These usually start at approximately 11:30 am and finish by 12:00 midday.

Cost: A donation of $5 is kindly requested (but not compulsory) to cover the costs of hall hire, craft activities and morning tea.
