Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary of Sts Michael and Gabriel Antiochian Orthodox Church is the heart of our parish. Our hard working ladies have started many wonderful initatives and continue to support our community in many ways. The committee assists in the workings of all apects of the church and our parish, including:

1. Religious

• The ladies take part in all religious activities of the church right through the ecclesiastical year from September till August – Christmas, Easter, Saints days and preparations for feast days.

• Our ladies founded the St Barbara prayer group for the archdiocese which currently meets each Thursday morning. They come together to pray for those in need and for the whole of creation.

• Orgainising bus trips to monasteries and spirtal retreats.

2. Social

• Our social work starts with communicating and working with members of our community and supporting our sister church communities.

• Orgainising special lunches and bus trips to farms and country towns.

• Special guess speakers.

3. Community Service

• Regular nursing homes visits around our local area of Ryde during Easter and Christmas.

• Visiting the sick and elderley in times of need.
